Produced in Saitama Prefecture, Chichibu has swiftly garnered international acclaim since its founding in 2008. This particular expression, matured in bourbon barrels, showcases a harmonious balance of traditional techniques and modern influences.
On the nose, one is greeted with a bouquet of vanilla, toffee, and sweet spice, indicative of the bourbon cask influence. The palate unfolds layers of fruitiness, featuring notes of ripe peach and citrus, complemented by a gentle oak undertone. The finish is smooth, with lingering hints of caramel and a subtle warmth, inviting one to savour each sip.
While the vintage dates back to beyond 1950, the distillery’s journey began relatively recently, underscoring its rapid rise within the competitive landscape of whisky production.
